Nyovah is a Vedic astrology companion that generates your personalised birth chart (Kundli) and then interprets it through AI. It is built around Jyotish — classical Indian astrology — and focuses specifically on timing: what planetary period you are in, what it means, and when it shifts.
Unlike generic horoscope apps, Nyovah works entirely from your unique birth details. Every reading is calculated for you, not for your sun sign.
No. Nyovah uses Vedic astrology (Jyotish), which is the classical astrological system of India. It uses the sidereal zodiac — planets are placed in the sky where they actually appear, accounting for the precession of the equinoxes — whereas Western astrology uses a fixed tropical zodiac.
As a result, your Vedic sun sign will often be different from your Western sun sign. Nyovah's system is also much more granular: it considers your Lagna (rising sign), Moon, all nine planets, 27 nakshatras, and a detailed planetary period system called Dasha.
Nyovah is for anyone curious about the timing of their own life — why certain periods feel heavy, when a phase might lift, what themes are active right now. You do not need to know anything about astrology to use it.
It is equally useful for people who do know Jyotish and want an intelligent, chart-aware companion to talk to.
The planetary positions are computed using published astronomical formulas (Jean Meeus, Astronomical Algorithms) and are accurate to within a degree for the date range used by most living people. Dasha (planetary period) dates are calculated from the precise Moon position at birth and are reliable to within a day.
The most important variable is your birth time. Even a 4-minute error can shift the Lagna (ascendant), which changes the entire chart interpretation. If you are unsure of your birth time, use the closest known estimate — the major dasha periods will still be correct.
Three things:
Date of birth — day, month, year
Time of birth — as accurate as possible (from a birth certificate or hospital record is ideal)
Place of birth — the city or town where you were born, for timezone and geographic coordinates
A Dasha is a planetary period — a defined span of years during which a particular planet has the dominant influence over your life. The Vimshottari system (the most widely used) cycles through 9 planets over 120 years.
Each Dasha contains sub-periods called Antardashas (one for each of the 9 planets), and each Antardasha contains further sub-periods called Pratyantaras. Nyovah tracks all three levels and tells you exactly when each one begins and ends.
Not yet — but this is coming. Family Blueprint will let you save charts for family members, partners, and friends, and eventually compare them side by side. It is on the roadmap and will be available in a future update.
Nyovah's AI never performs astrological calculation. All planetary positions, dasha dates, yogas, and chart analysis are computed by our own astrology engine on the server, using classical Jyotish rules.
The AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) receives those pre-computed facts and translates them into plain language — explaining what the planetary positions mean, how the current dasha is likely to feel, and what you can do about it. The separation is intentional: the AI interprets, never calculates.
Yes. When you share relevant facts in a conversation — a job change, a health concern, a move, a relationship — Nyovah quietly notes them and uses them in future sessions. You will never need to re-explain your situation.
You can see everything Nyovah has noted about you in the Profile → My Life panel. If something is wrong, you can delete it there.
Your birth data is sent to Anthropic's API (which powers our AI) in the form of computed chart facts — positions, periods, yogas. Your name and email are never included in these requests.
Your full birth details (date, time, place) are stored in your Firebase account. We do not sell this data and never will. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Go to Profile → Settings in the app and tap "Delete Account." This permanently removes your account, birth details, chart, chat history, and all stored facts within 30 days.

Yes, Nyovah is currently free. You can generate your full chart, view your dasha timeline, and have conversations with no cost.
A premium tier is planned for the future, which will include extended conversation history, priority responses, and advanced reports. Free users will not lose access to core features when this launches.

First, double-check your birth details in Profile — an incorrect time or city is the most common cause of a wrong chart. Birth time especially: a difference of even a few minutes can shift the Lagna.
